DOES ROOM DATA PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION THAN BIM?

Off course not, but let’s face it, when it comes to information about the FFE in a building a BIM model isn’t going to tell us a lot. On the other hand, when it comes to the structural, architectural and MEP design, room data isn’t going to be much use either.

The solution, so far as having all the information in one place is concerned, is to merge the two information resources. That way we can review and interpret the information in context with the building. This is easily done with the eRDS Revit and IFC plugins which write room data defined in eRDS Cloud back into the BIM models. And if you want to search any part of the room data and find out where certain fittings or finishes occur in the building, then 3DAsset has the answer, especially when used with eRDS Field.
