eRDS MANAGER FOR REVIT.

For integrating Revit with the eRDS Cloud asset database, and populating BIM with COBie compliant asset information.

eRDS MANAGER PLUGIN.

The eRDS asset database consists of 3D objects from a BIM model plus non-modelled assets defined as information, all in accordance with COBie. Both types are then enriched with as-built information captured from site.

Once the asset information has been validated it is sent back to the model. For the 3D objects this means sending enriched information back to the original objects, and for the non-modelled assets it means adding asset information to the room spaces and FM Placeholders.

ONE PLUGIN HANDLES EVERYTHING

The eRDS Manager takes care of the entire process in a simple to understand user interface. It identifies the levels, zones and spaces in the building, plus all maintainable assets from your BIM and sets up an asset database in eRDS Cloud. The software automatically creates FM Placeholders and when it’s time to re-import the completed asset database, all information is written to the correct place in the models as new Revit parameters.
SET UP A COBie STRUCTURED ASSET DATABASE.

eRDS Manager creates a set-up file for eRDS Cloud using the COBie structure of levels, zones and spaces and allocates all the BIM assets to the correct room / space.

AUTOMATICALLY CREATE 3D FM PLACEHOLERS.

The manager extracts the GUIDs and IDs of all the spaces in the model, and at the same time creates a 3D FM Placeholder object in each room. These objects are easily selectable in Revit and other applications and can be used for colour coding in analysis applications.

ASSETS FROM ARCHITECTURAL MODELS.

The plugin will identify and extract all doors, windows and any other ‘speciality equipment’ from Revit architectural models and import them into the eRDS Fittings Library. Doors are allocated to the room number they open into.

ASSET IDENTIFICATION.

The Asset Exporter function provides an easy way of identifying the maintainable assets. These includes any objects requiring special attention during installation & commissioning, or periodic inspections during operations, and they can appear on both architectural and MEP models.

eRDS WORKFLOW.

The Asset Exporter identifies the families of interest through a series of check boxes that lets users drill down to include or exclude objects of interest. The room / space location, GUID and element ID is recorded so enriched information can be written back to the model.

eRDS saves each asset ‘type’ as a Library entry and allocates them to the specified rooms. Users can have the components listed individually for COBie (allowing unique asset codes, serial numbers etc. to be recorded), or have them grouped together as totals.

ASSETS ALLOCATED TO ROOMS.

eRDS allocates the objects from Revit to the correct rooms either individually or by their quantities. Objects from Revit MEP are assigned to the rooms ME Components, whilst objects from the architectural model are listed under Fittings. Users can easily find what they are looking for by clicking through the four sets of information for each room.

IMPORT ENRICHED ASSET INFORMATION BACK TO REVIT.

Once the asset database has been completed with the necessary COBie information and definition of non-modelled assets, the information is imported back into Revit through the eRDS Manager. The result is that both information sources are synchronised.

IMPORT ROOM DATA INTO REVIT.

The enriched asset information in eRDS Cloud can be imported back into Revit through the eRDS Manager.

As-built information required by COBie is written as new Revit parameters on the originating objects.

Non-modelled information-only assets are written onto the spaces in the model or the FM Placeholders or both. If an architectural-only BIM this will include any mechanical and electrical assets. Other information will include all finishes, furniture and fittings in the room.

EDIT ROOM DATA AND ASSET INFORMATION.

All four sets of asset information (fittings, finishes, ME Spec and ME Comp) imported from eRDS Cloud can be edited in Revit. You can interrogate the contents of any room or search by class or description.

EMBEDDED ROOM DATA IN REVIT.

All non-modelled asset information is written as new parameters onto the 3D FM Placeholders. This includes room data for all finishes, fittings, mechanical components and specifications for each room.

eRDS Manager includes simple tools to review, edit or export the information direct from Revit to a multi-tab excel file. Exporting the information out of Revit is achieved in just a couple of clicks without any need for using a graphical programming language or scheduling tools.

ASSET INFORMATION IN OTHER BIM APPLICATIONS.

eRDS asset information and room data will be available in most BIM applications such as Navisworks, Autodesk 360, and ina variety of IFC viewers. The information can also be used in FM and asset management applications such as 3D Asset and YouBIM.

INTEGRATED WITH 3D ASSET.

eRDS Cloud & Field is fully integrated with 3D Asset, a Navisworks based BIM analysis & enrichment application.

Asset information from Revit can be added to using custom, shared or contents properties for all kinds of fit-out processes and colour coding.

ASSET INFORMATION IN NAVISWORKS

All eRDS information will come through to Navisworks.

eRDS ASSET INFORMATION IN YouBIM.

Asset information from Revit created in eRDS Cloud is imported into YouBIM either directly from eRDS, or through COBie.

COBie.

When you export the model to COBie, all eRDS asset information will be included.
